DAYCO BRAND STYLE GUIDE
A brand isn't a brand without a clear and direct set of rules that dictate style, tone, and functionality of individualized brand elements.
Dayco had an old, outdated style guide that did not accurately represent the brand and its goals. Global marketing and design teams worldwide were not operating with a consistent look and set of rules because it simply did not exist up to modern standards.
As the only designer assigned to this project, I single-handedly developed a 60 page booklet that outlined every detail of the new Dayco brand. Not only does this style guide consolidate the Dayco brand, but it makes it one consistent brand worldwide.
It was crucial to stay on brand and on message when designing every single aspect of the brand, from the color palette to the logo placement on shirts.
Each element needed to carry enough emphasis to be a stand alone design, while also remaining part of the larger whole: the Dayco brand. Each element is designed with its own specifications and styles yet remains a consistent piece of the overall brand.
Style guides are naturally dense with information and Dayco's brand elements had to be communicated effectively so they were correctly followed. I devised an easy-to-follow and sophisticated layout for all 60 pages of style rules.
